By model number. Yours is E85____. It can be a letter from the E. These cards have a code that they in force.

The model year can be in the plate serial number and is sometimes in the same issue. This should be under the engine itself in a metal plate, the housing and visible, without being brought to undergo the parts, bridges, etc. Call your dealer or the workshop, and they will help you.
This year, the engine is not included in the serial Johnson / Evinrude Outboard. This is the model #. When you specify the model, I can tell you exactly what year it is outside. # The model is on the label serial number.
